A well established business, performing strongly throughout 2020, are looking to bolster their team and employ a new Business Development Associate. Reporting into the Business Development Manager, the Associate will specialise in identifying new opportunities to bid on work as well as intelligence gathering and sales calls.

The company are an FM specialist and so experience within business development especially in the Facilities sector is desirable. The main business portfolio of the company consists of schools and hospitals, working with local clients rather than large national mobile contracts. Being based in the North West, the company is well known in the area as a quality business and one who works with the local community to give back and work for the benefit of others. New business targets for the Business Development Associate will need to reflect the company values and ethos as well as being financially viable opportunities.

Duties of the role include:

  • Identifying new target clients who fit the company demographic
  • Intelligence gathering on up and coming tenders
  • Market research into the FM sector and new economic opportunities
  • Keeping the database up to date with new framework updates and opportunities
  • Cold calling
  • Liaising with the Business Development Manager who will follow up leads
  • Assisting with tender paperwork

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Some sales experience, interested in a career in business development
  • FM experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Graduates are welcome to apply
  • Organised and methodical
  • Enthusiastic and driven
  • Confident with a polite telephone manner
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
