Role Overview
Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Reports To: Head of Accounts
My client are an established property group that offer a number of services to their national client base. They are looking for someone that can join the team and support on a number of duties such as ensuring that all receipts are processed promptly and accurately and that Bank Reconciliations are carried out daily. The client is very keen on developing their staff and promoting internally so will support the successful applicant with internal and external training.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Accounts Assistant will:
- Carry out daily receipt processing accurately and in a timely manner
- Try to identify unidentified monies but if unable to do so ensure that it is returned promptly within the timescales specified in the RICS guidelines
- Review unapplied cash daily and allocate monies where possible
- Ensure that bank reconciliations are carried out daily and are kept up to date at all times
- Respond to queries quickly and efficiently
- Process and respond to correspondence received with cheques, saving a copy of correspondence in the Property Document Store
- Process daily Tax Receipts
- Ensure that the holding account is reviewed daily
- Be familiar with and follow the latest procedures and know how to access business documentation
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the business needs
- Provide cover for other roles and projects as required
- Carry out all duties within ARMA guidelines and RICS code of practice
- Ensure that FSA regulation guidelines are adhered to in all working practices and that all staff behave in accordance with these rules and Treating the Customer Fairly guidelines
- Be courteous and professional in all dealings with staff, clients, customers, contractors and general public.
- Develop business relations with group members in order to maximise Group cross-selling opportunities
