Our client were initially established in the late 90's for the specific purpose of providing Facilities Management service in the PFI market.

The Company has now grown to the extent that they have a large amount of construction and facilities Maintenance contracts, both in the public and private sector, based across Scotland and the North East of England.

The key purposes of this role are to:


  • Ensure LC yearly budgets are not exceeded for each contract.
  • Manage the compilation and implementation of a schedule of LC works for the next contract year for each site.
  • Compile reports to SPV detailing LC works for the coming contract year, a 5 year look ahead and a full term look ahead.
  • Ensure delivery of all LC works in conjunction with site staff to cost/schedule in accordance with condition surveys and any unplanned works.
  • Schedule and implement a plan for carrying out internal fire audits on all operational sites and compiling a new standard fire log book for use on all sites.

Key Communication Responsibilities:


  • SPV (Managing  and monitoring funds, reviewing application for payments)
  • Site Contract Managers/Facilities Managers (Site interfaces and scheduling, work content, allocation and WIP)
  • H&S Manager (Fire audits/site fire safety)
  • CD and other senior staff (Reports/reviews as required)
  • QA Manager (Quality assurance process, verification of new procedure, forms)
  • Sub-Contractors (Price negotiation, work allocation, scheduling)

 Desired Qualifications & Experience:


  • Relevant qualification in Maintenance/Building/Engineering/Fire prevention Management or equivalent experience
  • Managing maintenance and building operations in a commercial environment
  • Controlling costs and managing budgets. Scheduling/Planning maintenance activities
  • Experience of managing and supervising staff
  • Knowledge of good practice in maintenance management
  • Controlling costs and managing budgets
  • Knowledge of the education/Healthcare sectors
  • Knowledge of fire prevention and fire risk assessment
  • Knowledge and experience of the PPP sector including practical experience of the lifecycle provisions within PPP contracts.
