Roofing Assistant - Trainee / Apprenticeship Role
Excellent opportunity to learn a trade whilst earning a wage!
My client is looking for a trainee roofer to join their team in Birmingham. Ideally you would be located around castle Bromwich / Kingshurst / Chelmsley Wood. You don't need experience, more important is your attitude and desire to learn. You will be working alongside an experienced roofer who you will be able to learn from. Subject to satisfactory probationary period the employer will look to get the successful candidate enrolled in college 1 day per week to gain industry recognised qualifications.
This role will involve call outs and you must be prepared to participate in the call out rota.
Must be 18+ for this role
Responsibilities:
· To assist and carry out project defined roofing work to a high standard as directed by the Site Manager
· Material co-ordination
· Adhere to Company quality standards to include:
· Compliance with specification / Compliance with materials and workmanship
· To attend all relevant training courses including all SHEQ courses arranged by the employer including Tool Box Talks
· Making repairs and restoring damaged parts
· Maintain and care for all company tools
· Wear appropriate clothing and PPE specific to tasks
- Ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day
Skills and Knowledge:
· A positive attitude
· The ability to listen and follow instructions
· A good attention to detail
· Good practical skills
· A positive and friendly attitude and a desire for career progression
About the right candidate
· Preferably hold a clean and full UK driving license and own car or must be working towards obtaining a licence
· Must be comfortable with working at height
· Must be comfortable working in the outdoors, all weather and temperatures
· Must be extremely reliable
- Successful candidate upon completing a successful probationary period will be given the opportunity to attend college (1 day per week at College)
