Description

We are looking for a dynamic and focused individual to join us as Lead Assets & Maintenance Co-ordinator as part of our biggest and most ambitious transformation which will be taking the Council to new levels of excellence. The role will require the ability to utilise the Council’s assets to generate a commercial return, whilst maintaining them to a high standard and managing a team of staff responsible for their upkeep.

About this role

As Lead Assets & Maintenance Co-ordinator, you will be expected to:

  • Develop and deliver the asset management strategy for the Council covering all operational, strategic and commercial assets
  • Enable delivery of relevant Council objectives and local priorities through maintaining high standards in asset management
  • Manage and maintain all assets that have not been specifically allocated to another team (such as the parks and open spaces)
  • Manage leases and licences relating to the Council’s assets, working with the Commercial Manager to increase income and reduce costs
  • Ensure the Council delivers its duties as the navigation authority for the River Blackwater 
  • Embed a highly customer focussed and commercial approach to service delivery and development
  • Work collaboratively and manage key relationships with colleagues across the organisation, Members, , partners and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to other relevant strategies and plans (including the commercial strategy)
  • Undertake timely procurement of goods or services where appropriate (including producing all necessary tender and quotation documentation)
  • Prepare Capital & Revenue estimate bids as required
  • Preparation of all necessary documentation and seek quotations and tenders for capital and revenue work as required
  • Manage a small team of staff delivering maintenance activities
  • Manage the Councils Vehicle fleet
