Maintenance Officer – Central Office (Ref: 661)

A vacancy exists for a Maintenance Officer at the Union's Central Office in Manchester.
The salary is £35,528 pa and the postholder will be expected to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the job, which may include weekend work.
The successful applicant will be required to live within a reasonable travelling distance which should be no more than one hour's travelling time of Central Office and will hold a full, valid driving licence with access to their own vehicle.

The principal duties are: to oversee the general maintenance and security of the Central Office building; delivering a safe working environment and to manage the staff of the Maintenance Section.
The successful applicant will possess: a qualification from the British Institute of Facilities Management (Level 4) or equivalent relevant experience; knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation including building and fire regulations; experience of general building maintenance, procurement and contract management; the ability to motivate and manage staff.
