Responsibilities:



  • Carry out maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security etc. equipment and services on site, where necessary and within your range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience

  • Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets etc. within your range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.

  • Ensure that all reactive and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard within the contracted SLA's

  • Ensure all planned maintenance tasks are completed within the designated time period to enable full statutory compliance

  • Diagnosing faults on all Mechanical & Electrical support systems and rectifying where necessary and within your range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience.

  • Provide a client-facing interface to ensure a high level of communication is delivered to the client.

  • Provide suitable repair and minor work quotations for all works that do not form part of the contract or those that exceed the agreed level of liability.

  • Manage subcontractor work performance as and when required for site attendance

  • Produce clear and concise written reports in a timely manner.

  • Attend site and carry out reactive tasks and emergency call outs as instructed by the helpdesk team.

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all Company & client employees

  • Be part of out of hours call out rota

  • RAMS

  • PTW

  • Adhere to Safe systems of work

  • Occasional work at the weekends and any additional time to be taken in lieu and be part of the on call rota

  • Undertake Authorised Person duties as required - subject to further training


Skills and Knowledge:



  • Recognized apprenticeship is desirable

  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification or Equivalent

  • Previous engineering experience held in the building service industry

  • Client facing

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Knowledge of control systems/HVAC systems

  • ACOP L8 Awareness

  • Experience in working in an environment relevant to contract- healthcare / schools / secure

  • Experience of lone working

  • Experience and knowledge of other trades related to building operation and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of specific Safe Systems Of Work

  • Knowledge of legislation and technical standards relevant to experience

  • IT Skills

  • Experience of BMS systems.

  • Specialist manufacturer training courses as appropriate

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand wiring diagrams

  • Experience of fault finding on M+E assets

  • Maintenance of circuits, distribution boards,

  • Emergency lighting, 3 phase electrics including motors etc.

  • A good knowledge of all building services.
