International Workplace has been announced as a finalist at the Learning Technologies Awards 2018 in the category ‘Best international learning platform implementation’.

The shortlisting is a result of a nine-month collaboration between International Workplace and Abu Dhabi Vocational and Education Training Institute (ADVETI), creating the organisation’s first ever commercial learning platform, to enable it to deliver and monetise eLearning courses in line with the requirements of the UAE’s public sector procurement policy.

International Workplace’s Managing Director, David Sharp, commented:

“We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Learning Technologies Awards for the fourth time – it’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams both here in the UK and in Abu Dhabi. We’ve created a learning platform that gives ADVETI a new route to market, cuts down the time, cost and resources to administer the OSHAD SF Practitioner programme, and meets the requirements of UAE public sector procurement and Islamic banking law – a key organisational goal for ADVETI.”

The Learning Technologies Awards attract entries from around the world and are recognised as the benchmark for excellence in digital learning.

Director of Operations at ADVETI, Mahmoud Al Alawi, said:

“Both teams in ADVETI and International Workplace have worked really hard to achieve this project as a pioneer for ADVETI’s aim towards eLearning. The targeted students are working professionals and this platform will give them the flexibility to receive the programme wherever they are in the UAE. Being shortlisted for the Learning Technologies Awards is evidence for the quality of work produced by International Workplace, in collaboration with ADVETI and we are now excited to get the award.”

Added Siobhan Connolly, Curriculum Specialist at ADVETI:

“ADVETI, in collaboration with International Workplace, are proud to have been shortlisted for the Learning Technologies Awards for the Abu Dhabi Safety Regulatory Licence Course project to an online platform.

“The award is a testament to the innovation and dedication of both teams.

“This project will improve provision for safety professionals to be licensed as recognized professionals in their field. The online delivery significantly improves the flexibility, accessibility and breadth of offering of the course, meeting both ADVETI’s strategic plan for online learning and UAE government objectives to continue to develop professional safety standards in the region.”
