Fernox launches new CIBSE-approved commercial CPD: Understanding System Water Quality

Share with:

Fernox has launched a new CIBSE-approved CPD on system water quality, helping building services engineers, mechanical and HVAC engineers, M&E contractors and facilities managers to understand how water quality affects heating system performance and how to overcome common issues. The one-hour, online or face-to-face session looks at the causes of contamination within commercial environments, the solutions available and the importance of getting water treatment right from the outset.

Poor system water quality can affect the efficiency, reliability and the lifespan of heating systems. Air, particulate matter and water chemistry issues can all cause problems if left untreated. This makes it important to consider water quality as part of the overall system design.

Fernox’s new CPD, which is available in the UK and Ireland, looks at the different types of contaminants and where they come from, as well as the products and technologies available to help tackle them. Furthermore, it explores how these solutions can be incorporated into a system’s design, including the use of physical devices alongside chemical water treatments. The session also covers hydraulic separation and system balancing, explaining their role in supporting efficient system operation. The CPD is designed to help attendees make more informed decisions about water treatment, system design and water testing.

Rob Jacques, Business Development Manager Commercial  at Fernox said, “Water quality is an important part of heating system design. Understanding what causes contamination, how it affects performance and which solutions are available can help prevent problems and keep systems running efficiently. This CPD gives building services professionals the opportunity to build their knowledge and better understand the role of water treatment in system performance.”
