The Role: Commercial Director
Sector: Commercial Property Maintenance
Location: Nationwide – HQ Kent
Salary: £120,000 to £150,000 pa + Package
My client is exceptionally successful in their field and it is no wonder given the amazing team, phenomenal ethos, incredible service standards and level of ambition. They have seen their business grow by 70% in the last year and they are set to continue! With over 20 years behind them, they are in a very strong position and we are looking for a driven Commercial Director to join them.

As Commercial Director, you are strategic, motivational, proven and passionate. People will be key and you will thrive in a role that enables team and individual success.
You will contribute heavily to the development and delivery of structured growth across key sectors and achieve key targets. As we know, good business is all about relationships and this will be exactly that. You will lead a commercial team across the UK and report to the managing director.
A full clean driving license is a necessity as well as a willingness to travel as required.
All about the role:
The Commercial Director will ensure all pricing, risk and compliance matters are thoroughly aligned and delivered upon. A background in pricing would be an advantage as you will work hand in hand with Bid team throughout bidding / tendering process. Your regional team will work collaboratively to get under the skin of contracts and you will ensure that there is harmony between the Commercial, Bids, Sales and Operations teams. As a department head you are expected to motivate, inspire, and lead your teams in line with The Groups key beliefs.
and will need to develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders in order to pursue and secure commercial opportunities with particular focus on sustainable growth.
The Commercial Director will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with, and successful delivery of, all commercial and contractual governance requirements. You will need to collaborate with business leaders to drive the overall commercial proposition for the customer as well as develop strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with commercial contractual requirements e.g. reporting, GMP reconciliations, proactive management of change notes
- Act as a trusted, visible and accessible point of contact to business leaders; providing commercial and financial decision support; challenge and insight into business profitability to drive future performance
- Understand the value drivers of the business and provide guidance on contract / service performance including ROI, scenario planning and analysis.
- Understand the customer landscape and their drivers to provide contract / service pricing, cash and margin optimisation recommendations, ensuring an acceptable balance of risk and return
- Proactive identification, assessment and management of financial and commercial risks
- Ability to understand performance trend and develop and implement strategies to improve them.
- Develop customer relationships to support successful contractual and commercial negotiation regarding contract change notices, commercial opportunities and rebids
- Support business leaders with contractual obligations through identification of over and under delivery, performing root cause analysis, and making recommendations.
