Head of Construction - Hotel Group
The experienced Head of Construction we are looking for manages key renovation projects, big and small. Are you able to lead and oversee all aspects of our current and new to come projects?
Do you enjoy working with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope or even surpass the expectations?
Coordinating and communicating with other departments ensuring that all aspects of each project are compatible is your second nature?

Our client currently has 14 hotels located in the Netherlands and is on a mission with their strong ambition to grow internationally; the business has secured funding so is growing across Europe. They will be opening new hotels in new markets such as the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, France and Belgium, to name a few.
We need a Head of Construction to join them and head up this growth.
You must have International Experience; and will need to be located in the Netherlands - Assistance with relocation will be discussed on a case-by-case basis; the Head office is located in Amsterdam.
What will you do?
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Negotiate contraction contracts
- Ensure resource procurement, availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with all relevant stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Make detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
- Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared internally
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
Who are you?
- Proven working experience in project management
- Excellent client-facing and internal (written and verbal) communication skills
- Solid organisational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage a large amount of consultants and internal stakeholders
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in the appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Experience with project management software tools
- Knowledge of MEP, the technical aspects of construction
- Affinity with the hotel and travel industry is a plus
