The Role: Head of Sustainability
Location: London

Salary: £90,000 to £120,000pa + Package
Our client is a global leader in Facilities Services and offers arguably the most innovative approach to solutions in partnership with their clients.
Due to the continued growth of the group along with the service they offer, we are now looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Sustainability to join the senior team on their most exciting client contract.
The Head of Sustainability will work on a very high-profile Financial Services Account be part of the delivery which involves dedicated environmental management across the five regions: UK, EMEA, APAC, India and the Americas.
All about the role:
The purpose of the Global Sustainability Lead role is to develop and implement the ESG strategy aligned to client approach, to manage the operational environmental programme delivery Globally, including; regulatory compliance, delivering against Client targets and KPIs, and facilitating global ESG programmes. Develop initiatives and concepts such as renewables that will deliver on net zero targets across Campus and corporate buildings.
The role will also provide support to the Group in product development, delivering compliance and providing management support to implement new Net-Zero programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the achievement of the client’s accelerated sustainability goals: Implement the set of operational programs that reduce resource use and associated carbon footprint.
Develop, support, and assure delivery of Net-Zero programmes on the account globally. These currently include a Global Energy Optimisation Programme and Global Zero Waste Programme.
Manage environmental regional coordinators, consolidate environmental targets and programmes. Manage and monitor progress through monthly reporting process
Ensure Integration of Sustainability principle into all curated experiences
Coordinate with Local FM the certification of the EMS and ISO 14001 – including subsequent reporting
Establish and manage a global team and country green team/ champion network to support environment programme and objectives
Maintain and update all relevant Global environmental procedures and ensure compliance through carrying out internal control audits and assisting with Client-led audits
Manage and deliver service level requirements in respect of Environmental Operating Procedures (EOPs) Globally including:
o Managing and providing oversight for site-based registers and the effectiveness of controls to manage these
o Site based environmental legislative compliance
o Data management and improvement
o Target performance setting and management
o EOP self-assessment compliance testing; communication and awareness; and
o Performance and compliance reporting – ensuring all Environmental operating procedures are frequently reviewed for legislative changes and quality.
Develop and appraise the various tools and systems used by the environment team in order to assist the client in meeting environmental targets and creating an efficient work programme
Provide recommendations and regular feedback to improve workplace sustainability initiatives and programmes
Qualifications:
- Environmental based relevant degree
- Membership to relevant professional body is desirable
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in a Global / Regional sustainability role (in-house or consulting)
- Good understanding and appreciation for a wide range of sustainability and ESG topics
- Proficient in translating technical facts and figures into business language
- Experience in using environmental and ESG reporting platforms
- Good knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 50001)
- Experience working in a global organisation would be an advantage.
