Mechanical Estimator

Blackpool

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join a M&E Contractor based in Blackpool who provide M&E services across multiple sectors including Schools, Leisure facilities and Care Homes, from design through to installation and commissioning.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Tender for electrical (mechanical) installation projects
  • Produce take-offs and measure specific items
  • Produce final compilation of tenders
  • Issue tender packages to sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring all the relevant information is provided.
  • Ensure quotations are received back by the specified date, in order to meet deadlines

Job Purpose:


  • To provide financial input on all bids from tender stage through to mobilisation and handover, whilst achieving the required standards and quality.
  • To provide technical input to the ongoing maintenance of the company bid model templates to ensure they are up to date in respect of labour constants, labour rates and other cost data items.
  • To provide input into the bib / no-bid and adjudication processes.
  • To contribute to bid teams formed at pre-contract stage and renewal when applicable.
  • To provide advice relating to supply chain requirements for bid submission, delivery and compliance purposes.
  • Preparing data and costings for tender submissions in consultation with the Bid Manager, commercial and finance leads and strategic growth personnel
  • Undertaking cost analysis for FM activities including asset management and life cycle works
  • Assisting in the preparation of spend forecasting and life cycle models based on project details, Bills of Quantities and actual condition findings
  • Delivering a fully costed roadmap of the service line to operations through the mobilisation process to ensure clarity of the proposed delivery model
  • Maintaining robust and consistent change control processes to identify changes/variations as relevant for each scheme

The offer:


  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
  • Up to £60,000 - Dependent on experience
  • 22 + 8 Bank Holidays
