Plumbers main job role:


  • Responsible for the delivery and performance of the P2 maintenance and P6 work working in line with the regional Operations Manager and planning teams
  • Provide resource support for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), small works and cover for breakdowns and callouts when required
  • The design, programming and commissioning of 'small' P6 project works
  • Develop and maintain our relationship with the site Operations team and the end-users
  • Ensure delivery to the expected high standards in line with both the company and contracted agreement
  • To provide leadership, support and direction to the engineers assigned to you to ensure the high-quality delivery of PPM service, reactive breakdown and small project commitments
  • Provide technical support and assistance to field engineering team and clients
  • Drive high standard service delivery, retention and growth of P2 service contracts across the business
  • Communication, innovation, coaching, mentoring and training are all key to the strategy and therefore form an essential part of the role and must be harnessed to achieve budget targets and growth within the Region
  • Work together with the other Operational teams to deliver exceptional service to our customers
  • Ensure all reports are trained and operate safely within the QSHE and water processes and procedures and that there are no exceptions, reportable incidents or non-compliance's for you and your team
  • Supporting the Operations manager, action all legionella positives and non-satisfactory PPMs in a timely manner, target completion within a month. Attend weekly compliance calls where required.
  • Drive a data driven approach to service delivery, leveraging the MI and insight produced by the Operational Excellence teams. Achievement of a minimum of 95% PPM completion across all service lines on a monthly basis.

Plumber Main Duties


  • Maintain all processes and procedures in accordance with company / contract procedures.
  • Provide support and act as decision maker for dealing with issues including engineer support, callouts and PPMs ensuring commercial situations are dealt with, with the necessary aptitude to ensure benefits to all parties.
  • Ensuring that consistent reports are produced on time by ensuring the timely production and issue of site activity reports to satisfy KPI & SLAs.
  • Take a pro-active role in meeting internal and external clients and carrying out customer care to ensure they are satisfied with service delivery.
  • Take a lead role along with the helpdesk team for the Manpower Planning for your team and provide decision making and leadership to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction are maintained.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are never compromised and that processes and documentation are regularly reviewed and maintained. In particular, ensure that engineers receive the core competency and tool box talk training and engineers, site and vehicle inspections requirements are met.
  • Ensure maximum contract retention and provide to assistance to grow the existing PPM base.
  • Ensure that opportunities from the PPM base for projects are maximised and weekly PPM compliance reports are actioned where required.
  • To take ownership of shortfalls in service delivery and manage complaints effectively.
  • Undertake site surveys to facilitate the production of quotations.
  • Support water estimators in the preparation and submittal of quotations for replacements, upgrades and small project works. Information will be either provided by customers in the form of tender inquiries, specifications or through site surveys.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are never compromised and that processes and documentation is regularly reviewed and maintained.
  • Work within our customer access and security constraints throughout the region.
  • Where required assist with delivery of project works within the business.
  • Take ownership of the MiReview appraisal process and the bi-annual review of the skills matrix for your reports to ensure that their career and training plans are set and achieved.

Plumber Qualifications:


  • Plumbing NVQ level 2 essential
  • L8 or Legionella awareness (training provided if need be)
  • Good communication skills with a proven track record of ability to communicate at all levels to get the best from a team environment and build good relationships with customers.
  • Sufficient and demonstrable experience working within the water treatment industry.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Adopt a can do attitude and approach to the role.
  • Maintain a safety first culture.
  • Competent to maintain the company and client H&S standards with a basic knowledge of statutory and health & safety requirements.
  • Customer focus on providing solutions beneficial to customers.
