Job overview
- To effectively manage and ensure excellent service delivery at site.
- To ensure customer satisfaction and continual improvement of Mitie standards through monitoring / managing the performance of the cleaning and catering team liaising with key personnel and providing effective communications throughout.
Reporting to (position): Site Support Manager
Main duties
- Responsibility for providing an effective approach to cleaning methodologies throughout the site.
- Audit the teams performance using Q-audit system.
- Identify and promote initiatives to maintain and improve cleaning standards.
- Line management responsibility for all cleaning operatives including payroll, HR issues, training, recruitment, performance management, annual appraisals and developing individual personal development plans.
- Ensure effective communication with the Cleaning team, updating on all relevant issues.
- Manage the documentation system ensuring that all documents and records are up to date and ready for audit purposes.
- Monitor and control activities in relation to the site labour, materials and consumables budgets.
- Manage laundry scope.
- Manage reactive helpdesk calls appropriate to area of responsibility.
- Foster collaborative and partnership working practices across the business at all levels of the clients management team to ensure Mitie policies and procedures, and best practice, are adhered to, and staff motivation is maintained.
- As required attend client meetings.
- Regularly review the target levels for individuals' sickness, turnover, and recruitment communicating the findings with the Mitie Management Team.
- Identify and pro actively manage ad hoc projects involving relevant client personnel.
- Review and improve the effectiveness of the Cleaning Operatives on a continual basis.
- Manage subcontractors aligned to the soft services remit: washroom services, equipment provider, materials & consumables supplier, laundry.
Person Specification
- Cleaning experience.
- Technical cleaning knowledge with Bics.
- Able to build strong, long term relationships with key stakeholders.
- Computer literate in the areas of Microsoft Office.
- Similar managerial experience.
- Ability to multi task, work well under pressure to deadlines and use own initiative.
- Team player.
- Strong written and verbal communication style.
- Ability to work autonomously and make own decisions.
- Flexible, adaptable approach to workload.
- Excellent track record in customer service.
- Self-development and motivation.
- Problem solving skills, ability to use their initiative/ lateral thinking.
- Planning & Organisational Skills.
Health and Safety responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
