Our client is looking for a Project Manager to work in Bangor area of North Wales.

Job Specification: 


  • To support and deliver a portfolio of construction/M&E/Facilities Projects, utilising standard project management methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with the sites representatives with support from contract site and Senior Management team members
  • Responsible for the successful initiation, scoping, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project
  • To manage and lead Construction Projects on-site, liaising with the Senior Management team, client representatives, sub-contractors and other trades, co-ordinating all aspects of the works so that the project is completed in line with the requirements, within budget and on time.
  • Lead safety/CDM compliance, acting in the Principal Contractor/contractor role where required, ensuring that all works are completed in compliance with relevant legislation and site safety standards
  • Responsible for managing the work of consultants, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.
  • Ensure that supply chain members are approved and deliver all works safely in accordance with Site on-time and to budget
  • Ensuring the relevant programme risks are identified and managed/mitigated as appropriate. This includes regular monitoring of the residual risks.
  • Have a commercial understanding of the contract, ensuring that quotes are submitted in accordance with relevant terms and conditions and that applications for payments are submitted on time.

Main Duties:


  • To interpret client requirements and assist client in producing scope and specification documents for works
  • Produce quotations (including sub-contractor costs)for submission to clients
  • Tender evaluation documentation formed and provided to the chosen supply chain contractor
  • Develop project programmes utlising proprietary software, ensuring milestones are added for tracking and invoicing
  • Ensures that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality & reglative standards, acting as task supervisor when required
  • Ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages stakeholder relationships with a wide range of groups
  • Ensure client SME advisors are consulted where appropriate, work permits sought and RAMS endorsed for lift plans, working at height, excavations, electrical working etc and in accordance with client company procedures

Person Specification:


  • Experience as lead of the full life cycle of Construction/M&E projects/small works
  • Pro-active good at planning ahead as far as possible as the project progresses, checking back to plans/programmes regularly
  • Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expects good standards of work and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems.
  • Organised, good at time management and prioritisation of work
  • Experienced in the control and supervision of sub-contractors
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CDM regulations
  • Technical knowledge in a range of disciplines
  • Ability to visualise and interpret drawings
  • CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day)
  • IOSH managing safely (Construction) or NEBOSH
  • Project Management qualification Desirable ( APMQ, Prince 2 or equivalent)
  • An understanding of scaffolding requirements, groundworks, working at height regulations, buried services
  • Ability to be appointed by the client as a task supervisor for projects, reactive works and planned maintenance.
  • Knowledge of programme planning sequencing and updating
  • DBS clearance required

  • Up to £55,000 dependent on experience
