Due to growth on one of our client's biggest healthcare sites in Southampton we now have a new opportunity for a Fabric Technician looking to step into a new position.
This role will include tasks such as painting, decorating, plumbing, doors, locks, general building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to determine the extent of painting and decoration works required to deliver as cost effectively and efficiently as possible.
Ability to plan and organise work, materials and equipment required ensuring size and complexity of job is considered to minimise non-productive time and exceed customer expectations.
Carry out a range of painting and redecoration tasks across managed portfolio.
Removal of old paint / paper using methods such as sanding or scraping or steam strippers.
Preparation of surfaces by repairing woodwork, filling or sealing holes, cracks and joins and cleaning to remove dust and grease.
Select, mix and thin paints to obtain desired colour and texture as required.
Measurement and application of paints or other materials, such as stains, lacquers, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating using brush, roll or spray methods.
Application of decorative paint finishes such as stencils, colour glaze, graining, marbling and lettering.
Measurement and application of wallpaper or fabric to walls.
Carry out tasks such as but not restricted to plastering, carpentry and associated plumbing disconnections within guidelines, skills, knowledge and experience.
To carry out any additional duties as directed by the supervisor or manager including plumbing, doors and locks and minor maintenance tasks
Accountabilities :
- Reporting to the Contract Supervisor/Manager
Accountable to the Contract Supervisor/Manager
Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
Accountable for keeping the client logbooks up to date and the relevant sub contractor book work.
