About us and the role

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice. It operates based on a partnership between the Lord Chancellor, the Lord Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals. It currently has around 18,000 staff, operating from around 350 locations with a gross annual budget of c£1.6bn, approximately £800 million of which is recovered in fees and income from service users. It handles over 2 million criminal cases, 1.8 million civil claims, more than 150,000 family law disputes and almost 800,000 tribunal cases annually.

The Property Directorate within HMCTS is dedicated to the courts and tribunals estate with a mission to make the estate fit for purpose. The directorate is a diverse team of technical, professional and support staff working around the country and HMCTS is proud of our commitment to providing a flexible workplace and encouraging diversity in our teams.

The Facilities Management and Technical Assurance role is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Property Director. 

Your role will involve delivering agreed changes to the estate whilst minimizing operational disruption, supporting better value for money for taxpayers while also developing and maintaining close working relationships with Operations, senior members of the judiciary and other key stakeholders to ensure access to justice and continued progress in reducing the backlog through more intensive use of our buildings.
