We are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to manage a commercial property portfolio across the South. The role is home based and is working for a company whose head office is in Leeds and are looking to expand into the South following several successful contract wins. The aim of the business is to open an office locally later this year or next year in line with business growth so this is a great opportunity for someone to grow in the role and manage an expanding region, taking ownership and guiding the business in this area. While the role is home based you will visit client sites and have meetings with other local staff as necessary.

The sites are a mix of commercial office space, leisure parks, schools and retail including several large shopping centres. You will be responsible for managing all mechanical and electrical facilities assets across the sites. You will manage a team of mobile engineers across the sites who are responsible for the day-to-day ppm and reactive maintenance of the building facilities.  Client management and contract P+L are also key parts of the role.

Duties of the role include:


  • Managing all hard services provisions across several sites, managing a team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
  • Staff training, development and reviews.
  • To manage the client service delivery and contract KPI's over a number of locations
  • To be accountable for the financial performance of the contract
  • To develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with the client
  • Manage all SHEQ requirements across the sites and conduct risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • To manage all technical compliance across the contract.
  • Working with professional bodies such as the NICEIC to ensure all audits are passed.
  • To work with the operational and support teams to ensure all completion times for planned, corrective and reactive works are correctly logged and recorded within the company's asset management system.
  • To manage subcontractors an negotiate rates
  • To drive the profitability of the contract and manage the P+L.
  • Generate sales and cost saving initiatives as appropriate.
  • To regularly meet with the client to further understand their organisation and requirements.

The Applicant:

The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience:


  • Technical background Essential
  • Electrical experience desirable
  • Engineering management experience
  • Experience of using a CAFM system and managing KPI's
  • P&O / Financial experience
