The MET’s Real Estate Management Department is looking for an individual who is able to prioritise a challenging workload and has well-developed networking skills. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and energetic person who is committed to improving the performance and overall resilience of the MOPAC/Met estate.
As Senior Facilities Manager, you will play a major role in ensuring the Authorities estate remains compliant, providing a safe and comfortable working environment for officers, staff and visitors. The vacancy sits within the Property Service Department (PSD) FM hard services team. Therefore, you will be expected to have strong technical skills in the area of hard FM engineering services and property management as well as an in-depth understanding and knowledge of both domestic and commercial building services. Utilising these skills, you will manage the FM supply chain, delivering planned and reactive FM hard services across the entire MPS estate, ensuring the estate remains compliant. You will be required to oversee the management of a suite of FM term contracts, ensuring KPIs, SLAs and contract deliverables are achieved and maintained. Working in partnership with our FM suppliers, you will encourage innovation and improved performance whilst challenging and assisting in the improvement of areas of poor/deteriorating performance. You will play a key role in the future development and procurement of FM supply crain contracts, providing valuable input to ensure future contracts fully meet the needs of the Authorities’ transforming estate. As Senior Facilities Manager, you will form part of a small intelligent client unit based at one of the PSD's area bases, either in Sidcup or Hendon. However, you will be required to adopt an 'agile working' methodology across the whole MPS estate. Whilst the role will be challenging, it will be both rewarding and interesting, allowing you to work across a diverse estate, encompassing marine, aviation and forensic premises.
Salary: £48,997 to £60,115 plus a Location allowance of £1,639. You will receive £48,997 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £60,115 will be via incremental progression.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in Hard Services Facilities Management or Building Services Management.
- An appropriate professional qualification or equivalent experience
- Proficient user of established office software suites, e.g. Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable Criteria
- Membership of a recognised professional body, e.g. CIBSE. RICS, IWFM and IWFM
- Experience of Duty Holder responsibility.
- Gas/Electric/Water Competent Person.
- Experience in the interrogation and use of Building Management Systems (BMS).
