BMS Engineer

Salisbury - SP4

Salary: £32,000 - 35,000+

An incredible opportunity has become available as a BMS Engineer for the largest Facilities Management companies in the UK. Purpose :

To be based at a large government site in Salisbury on a brand new contract.

Responsible for managing the intelligent building control systems and associated equipment that support the efficient and compliant operation of over 150 sites across the world.

To be the owner and assurer of these systems and provide ongoing leadership and support to the maintenance teams to ensure optimum performance and reliability throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities :

Maintain a responsible attitude to work, be able to work unsupervised and apply technical and manual skills required to meet requirements of the Contract when carrying out:

- Co-ordinate any technical queries from the relevant site teams.

- Provide technical service and support on the BMS system for the maintenance team across the

operation.

- Ensure the BMS system is fully operational.

- Support all site teams with Technical and Operational issues.

- Assist with the development of the BMS strategy as and when required.

- Maintain the Networked BMS System.

- Take responsibility for the license issues of the BMS System.

- Control access to the BMS System.

- Ensuring all BMS and Critical alarm system Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed to

schedule

- Conducts preventative maintenance on control panels and equipment by checking for

functionality of operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.

- Rectification of defects, ensuring all performance standards are met in accordance with the

contract

- Carry out routine maintenance work associated with all BMS and Critical alarm systems

- Supervise specialist contractors and ensure all certification/ documentation is filled accordingly

- The installation of electrical systems and associated equipment followed up with the

appropriate certification.

- Support the site BMS Contractor in all aspects of Compliance

- Respond to requests made via the "Help Desk"

- Carry out task related "Risk Assessments" and maintain the records

- Direct all non-compliance with Environmental and Health & Safety standards

- Control of good housekeeping and good working practices

- Comply with all company procedures

- Provide assistance to third parties as and when required.

- Assistance on other areas of the site can be expected

- Taking an active part in the on call system, which may require the applicant to become an

authorised person (Electrical, Confined Space or Pressure Systems).

- Ensure full compliance of the companies Safety Rules and apply good engineering and safety

practices.

- Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of BMS, Critical alarm systems and HVAC

systems.

- Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP

(Good Manufacturing practice), if applicable.

- The responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.

- Provision of information on progress of allocated work orders.

- Adherence to all current company procedures.

- Adherence to the Quality Management System applied to all M&E systems.

- Ensuring continuous improvement and drive for value for money.

- Willing to work in secure and sensitive environment on an exclusively manned site.

Required Experience and Qualifications :


  • Preferably be an apprentice trained engineer who has recognized technical qualifications in Control Systems Engineering and preferably working towards Incorporated Engineering registration with an approved engineering body.
  • Significant industry experience in control and automation at technician/engineer level working in a critical environment reinforced with sound knowledge of Building Services
  • Working knowledge of Honeywell and Metasys BMS system and Integrated BMS systems, Dahli lighting control system.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (desired not essential)
  • Show diligence in safe working methods both for staff and occupants of the premises we are working in.
  • Impart knowledge and safety training to all members of staff as required
