We are currently recruiting for a permanent Site Supervisor / Caretaker to work at a school in Kirby Hill. The role is full time position working 40 hours a week. This would suit someone local who can get to the site easily.
The main aim of this role is to manage all facilities and safety aspects of the school to provide a positive working environment for the students and staff.
Duties of the role include:
- Ensuring security integrity of the school buildings and grounds through locking and unlocking, patrols, monitoring third party contractors.
- Line Manage 3 on site Cleaning Operatives.
- Conduct initial investigations for reactive requests, carrying out the repairs or reporting the damage to the helpdesk
- Carry out daily tasks i.e. litter picking, spot cleaning toilets, replenishing toilet role
- Carry out either physical or visual checks of water systems, Fire Alarms, Fire Doors, Fire Extinguishers, Plant Rooms.
- Respond to emergency situations such as floods, bodily fluids and effecting temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales
- Respond to request for collection of parcels, movement of furniture rearrangement of rooms etc in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales
- Be observant for H&S issues and ensure that they are rectified or made safe and reported to management
- Being proactive by noticing deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying if within capabilities or bringing the defect to the attention of management
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an education facility as a caretaker however training is provided so as long as you are willing to learn, able to pass an Enhanced DBS check and able to work the hours, they are open to all applications.
