Senior Commercial Manager

We are recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager for an inclusive, forward thinking and flexible working facilities management organisation.

The role will be based from home with Nationwide travel leading the commercial delivery across a large multi-site £20m contract within the public sector.

The contract provides facilities management services across hard and soft facilities including cleaning, waste, pes control mechanical & electrical services (M&E)

The Senior Commercial Manager will provide contract commercial management and profit improvement, risk and opportunity management including compliance.

The Senior Commercial Manager will manage various complex stakeholder relationships and improve operations and delivery against financial plans.

Duties Include:


  • Advising on commercial strategy
  • Owning and delivering post contract activity
  • Analysing and managing risk including assessing the revenue opportunities, risk and costs
  • Managing and securing internal approvals for new bid opportunities
  • Managing the commercial viability of variations
  • Leading negotiations encompassing multiple disciplines including supplier negotiations and flow-downs

Qualifications/ Requirements


  • Excellent knowledge of contract law and its application in services and construction
  • Extensive commercial and contracts experience and demonstrable track record in commercial strategy, risks and costs
  • Good working knowledge of Crown Commercial Services (CCS) contracts would be an advantage or have worked within complex facilities management
  • Modelling and testing contractual KPIs and Payment Mechanisms
  • Sound financial acumen (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) and good understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models
  • Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
  • Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
  • Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.
