Shift Technician
Monday - Friday (8hr Shifts)
St Athan - CF62
Salary up to £40,000 + Shift Allowance
One of the UK's leading manufacturing companies are looking for a Shift Technician to join a large team at a brand new production plant based in St Athans, Barry.
Working on behalf of a blue-chip client in the automotive industry, you will be responsible for the day to day preventative maintenance of production equipment and building fabric requirements across site.
Job Responsibilities for a Shift Technician:
- Ensure that all maintenance is always carried out in a safe manner and to comply with relevant health & safety regulations
- Follow PPM schedule and raise any improvements that can be made to reduce breakdowns or reactive calls
- Repair and maintain all automation, production & building fabric equipment and machinery in a timely and efficient manner
- Participate in the implementation of contingency procedures for asset breakdowns
- Ensure all maintenance operations are undertaken in a safe manner
- To apply both client & company working practices where stipulated
- To understand customer quality needs and to comply with various audit processes to ensure that both client and companies expectations are met
Qualifications & Experience for a Shift Technician:
- ONC or NVQ in Engineering Maintenance (essential)
- Mechanical and/or Electrical formal qualification (essential)
- 18th Edition (essential)
- HNC in a maintenance discipline (desirable)
- Comau or ABB robots and AGV (desirable)
- Basic PLC programming capability (predominantly Siemens)
- Minimum of 3 years experience post apprenticeship or "off the job" training in similar environment
- Previous experience of working in a fast acting automotive production environment
- Flexible attitude towards working hours
