MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Water Hygiene Technician's main function is to be responsible for undertaking routine monitoring PPMs on a wide variety of water systems, in line with company procedures and method statements.
As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will require a good understanding of both commercial and domestic water systems, be suitably qualified and experienced.
This role is central and pivotal to company-wide operations and maintaining a compliant and professional reputation. Our operatives have a detailed working knowledge of the HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274.
You will hold a City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training, equivalent or suitable industry experience. An ability to proactively identify problems and solve problems, whereby taking appropriate action to a resolution is essential.
You should demonstrate good organisational and timekeeping skills, alongside excellent communication levels, a professional attitude and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
We are looking for an individual who has the drive and determination to succeed.
This role will include a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Travel to customer sites in and around the Birmingham area
- Water Storage Vessel inspection and cleaning.
- Thermostatic Mixing Valve installation and servicing.
- Routine monitoring tasks inline with HSG 274 Part 2; Flushing Water Outlets, Temperature Monitoring, Descaling Showers, Flushing Pressure Vessels and Sampling.
- Closed Water System Monitoring via sampling.
- Using our Resource planning system SimPRO.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training
- Experience undertaking routine monitoring tasks inline with HSG 274.
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels both internally and externally.
- Background in Building Services or Environmental Consultancy preferable.
- Basic IT skills are expected: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Effective interpersonal, teamwork and organisational skills.
- Efficient and responsive.
- Flexibility to workload, hours and travel.
- Excellent timekeeping.
- Full, Clean UK driving licence.
- Clear Enhanced DBS check
