We are searching for an experienced business development manager to drive new FM business growth within corporate clients, especially finance, legal, banking, technology and media clients. Working within a team of sales professionals, you will be responsible for building and developing a pipeline of new business opportunities, providing solutions to clients who are seeking a trusted facilities management partner to deliver cleaning, security, M&E and associated services.
You do not need to be an expert in all the services we deliver as we have a number of SME’s within the business to support you in creating the wining solution. You do need to be an expert within your field demonstrating a successful track record in identifying potential opportunities, building strong client relationships, providing compelling client solutions, and successfully closing opportunities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To identify and exploit new sales opportunities within your market sector.
  • Develop and execute short and long-term sales plans, attract, and connect with new prospects, create proposals, respond to RFPs, and facilitate and close new business.
  • To take point for all tender responses, working with the central proposal team to produce a compelling, wining solution for the client
  • To be responsible for the commercial negotiation of new contracts with the client.
  • Work closely with our operations team in strategic & financial planning when creating client solutions.
  • To establish and maintain effective communication links with other business departments; to identify all sales opportunities and to confirm the details of the sales when the new business is achieved, to ensure that the client transitional process is effectively handled by the business.
  • To maintain accurate records of all sales activity and prepare regular forecasts to enable effective forward planning.
  • To maintain awareness of company services and of relevant sales techniques to ensure that the business development role is carried out as effectively as possible.
  • To keep abreast of the competition and liaise with the sales director a regular basis to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position.
  • To play a part in the development of new business development initiatives and the promotion and marketing of the company's services to ensure the achievement of the company's business plan and corporate objectives.
  • To undertake any other duties for which the business development manager is requested from time to time by the management team.
  • Support the company’s online and direct marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor bid schedules and understand the competition in the marketplace fully.

 
Person Specification:

Essential
  • A leader in your field – you will need to be able to demonstrate success in winning contracts within your area of expertise
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a sales / business development role
  • A ‘Hunter mentality’ type approach to selling – an energetic, results driven individual who takes pride in developing and implementing solutions for our clients
  • Strong understanding of the FM industry
  • Proven track record and experience in identifying new business opportunities, meeting an annual revenue sales quota, identifying customer’s needs
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • The role requires a high level of commercial awareness
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with customers both external and internal
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to communicate effectively
  • Experience of dealing with an environment of change
  • Salesforce, sales pipeline & forecasting experience
  • Strength in writing and presenting compelling, detailed, sales proposals.
  • Well organised and able to handle multiple proposals and processes simultaneously.
