Serco provide back office support services for Darent Valley Hospital which include a variety of Hard FM services including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance of the hospital estate.  DVH is a Total FM Contract so we also provide the Soft FM Services provision including Catering, Housekeeping & Domestics, Ward Hosting and Portering.  We are looking to recruit for a Mechanical Engineering Manager at the site on a full-time basis.

In the role of Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will support the Head of Estates to ensure that the hospital building, fabric, plant, services and equipment are maintained to a high standard to ensure continued efficiency, safety and reliability and to safeguard the future long term serviceability of the estate as contractually required by Serco, THC, and the Dartford and Gravesham Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

What you’ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you should have time served in a Mechanical Engineering role this would ideally be in a hospital setting with experience of HTM’s. You will need to be a manager within the Building services sector due to the estate maintenance the team are responsible for within the hospital.

The Mechanical Engineering Manager should have experience of managing teams, you will be responsible for our Mechanical Maintenance team which is made up of 2 Supervisors and 25 engineers and technicians.

It would be advantageous if the post holder has previous experience as the AP for Water – HTM 04  and Ventilation – HTM 03 in a Hospital environment. To be successful in the role there should be an understanding of CAFM systems as you will use this day to day.
