Looking for a new challenge as a Static Commercial Gas Engineer?
We have a great opportunity with one of our biggest and longest standing clients, who are a renowned and strongly established FM company who are looking to have a Static Commercial Gas Engineer join their workforce, covering a large prestigious aerospace site in Bristol.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance to statutory, mandatory, and contractual obligations
- Compliance to Safe Systems of Work including any Authority and Permits to Work
- Ensure training and competence assessments for Sub-contractors
- Act as RP for up-stream gas pipe work and assets.
- Assist in preparation for quotations and liaise with sub-contractors and clients to agree variable works pricing.
- To undertake heating/combustion maintenance reactive repair works as issued within set time frames to ensure client expectations are met
- To proactively identify and undertake heating/combustion maintenance works (reactive works not yet identified by the client)
- To undertake heating/combustion PPM works, within set time frames to ensure statutory compliance
- To undertake heating/combustion improvement works as required
- Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant including basic electrical fault finding
- To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of all plant room equipment
- Carry out on call duties as part of a rota
- Part of on-call engineer rota.
Knowledge/Experience:
Required
- Gas Safe qualified and registered engineer
- Likely to have a minimum 3 years' experience in similar role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Desired)
- CCN1 Core domestic gas safety
- CENWAT Central heating boilers and instantaneous hot water heaters
- CMDDA1 Carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide atmosphere and appliance testing
- CPA1 Combustion performance analysis
- DAH1 Domestic gas fired air heaters of rated input up to 70kW
- HWB1 Gas fired hot water boilers 15-40kW
- MET1 Domestic gas meters up to 6m³
- CCP1 Commission of commercial plant
- CDGA1 Commission, service direct fired heaters
- CIGA1 Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial indirect-fired heating appliances & equipment
- COCN1 Core commercial gas safety
- TPCP1A Testing & direct purging of commercial installation pipework exceeding 1m³ in volume, up to 7bar operating pressure NG & 2bar LPG
- Testing & direct purging of low-pressure commercial pipework not exceeding 1m³ in volume, 21mbar operating pressure
Desirable
- CKR1 Domestic gas cooking appliances
- DFDA1 Appliances with forced draught burners in domestic dwellings
- HTR1 Domestic open, balanced & fan flue gas fires & wall heaters
- COCNPI1LS Core commercial gas safety assessment (limited scope) pipe installer/commissioner
- CORT1 Commission, service, repair & breakdown of gas-fired commercial overhead
- ICAE1 LS luminous radiant plaque & radiant tube heaters
- ICPN1 Limited scope first fix commercial appliances
- ICPN1 LS Installation first fix of commercial pipework
