General Manager – Porto, Portugal

Sector: Accommodation, Hotel, Residential property

Salary: up to €32,000 plus bonus

 

We are seeking a General Manager super-star to join the team of this leading accommodation provider opening their latest site in Porto, Portugal.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations and to be the lead contact point for the accommodation customers. The role will need a hospitality-led and customer focused approach and the General Manager will be a key recruit in ensuring not only that the site operates smoothly, but that it is done so in a way to create a sense of community amongst the residents.

The successful candidate will need to show initiative and be a self-starter and have excellent communication skills as well as a professional outlook.

The varied role involves:


  • Ensuring a warm, welcoming and safe environment at all times
  • Active management of the site team to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Responsible for health and safety and security for the property
  • Responding to queries and maintenance issues
  • Control of the financial aspects and budgets
  • Manage showroom and liaise with contractors
  • Ensure routine inspections of the property and accommodations
  • Establishing and developing working relationships with all stakeholders, local community, 3rd parties, suppliers and contractors
  • Be an ambassador of the brand and ensure awareness and community feel via the organisation of events
  • Lead marketing and promotional campaigns


We are seeking the following skills/attributes:


  • At least 3 years experienced at senior level within a residential / student accommodation or hotel background
  • Experience of working and managing operational budgets and targets; producing weekly and monthly KPI reports
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Passionate about delivering great customer service
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Good personality and great common sense
  • A good team player who maintains a positive attitude
  • Excellent computing skills
  • Must have strong Local knowledge
  • Must be bilingual Portuguese and English
