A large NHS organisation is currently looking for a senior Facilities professional, will have extensive managerial experience within the healthcare setting and the ability to manage complex transformational change. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for undertaking the strategic and operational management of a range of Facilities services (both contracted and in-house), to maximise effectiveness, utilisation and functionality of staff resources, equipment, materials and finance;
  • This includes providing expert advice to clinical and corporate services on the provision of safe, high quality cost effective Facilities services;
  • Provide expert advice to clinical and corporate services on a range of service issues to ensure service continuity and business resilience (EPRR);
  • Undertake continued detailed analysis of service provision as required and develop strategies and plans to improve service provision in a cost effective and efficient manner;
  • Support the development of the Facilities Strategy, responsible for the delivery of catering, domestic, portering, transport, car parking, waste management, stores, building utilisation and business continuity. Provide reports on performance and KPI’s;
  • Undertake active engagement in regional/national forums influencing local and national services priorities and policy, as the Trust representative being an active participant;
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures relevant to facilities services negotiate changes in service provision from third party providers to ensure adherence to minimum acceptable standards as specified by the Trust;
  • Provide expert specialist and professional facilities advice to other estates staff, directors, senior management of the Trust and external agencies, which includes undertaking Responsible Person responsibilities in relation to specified services including Environmental Health, Cleaning and Catering services. This will include strategic liaison with HEFMA (Health Estates & Facilities Management Association), Trust to Trust estates partnerships and being the Trust point of contact for facilities matters for the CQC (Care Quality Commission);
  • Provide specialist advice to the property and capital development teams when acquiring, renovating and designing new buildings. As a specialist lead, ensure designs reflect estates service requirements including functionality and legislative requirements;
A successful candidate will have:
  • Extensive experience within Facilities Management in healthcare environment, at senior level with a proven track record in the management of complex teams;
  • Working knowledge of related control mechanisms and NHS procedures, legislation and guidance;
  • Able to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation, excellent communicator both verbal and written;
  • Energy, enthusiasm and innovative nature with the ability to engage with others in a challenged environment.
  • Please note this role has been considered inside of IR35 scope by the end client.
