We are looking for an Estates Officer - Water to join our Building Services team on an NHS contract in Nottinghamshire.
Working for a large Facilities Maintenance company as an Estates Officer you'll work in all aspects of the service delivery at NHS sites. You will be expected to manage the water systems maintenance elements of the sites and related activities. You will manage planned and preventative maintenance with specialist contractors and ensure all works are delivered to budget and on time. You will be responsible for the Water Services.

You'll:
- Manage the requirements for the 'minimisation and control of legionella and other water borne diseases' as responsible person (water) and the Management of Water Distribution systems e.g. monitoring contracts to carry out duties such as the disinfection of water tanks and systems.
- Be Responsible for tests of water supplies for ensuring water control measures are successful and analysing the results to establish the reactive maintenance
- You will monitor temperatures of Domestic Hot Water and cold water supplies to site and all activities required by legislation and HTMs.
- Establish a PPM schedule for all water systems.
- Undertake in house staff training where appropriate.
- Manage the subcontractors covering the maintenance of designated systems and provide support to existing team members in the delivery of their packages.
- Liaise with members of the Estates Team where necessary to coordinate work completion.
- Assist in the management of Estates direct labour group, external contractors and professionals are required.
- Assist in the promotion of good health and safety and quality practices by direct labour and contractors.
- Establish and maintain contacts within the hospital, with contractors, suppliers and statutory bodies as required to provide high standards of estate care.
- Manage maintenance subcontractors, to monitor PPM completion and to provide technical support to all sections of the maintenance department as necessary.
- Be responsible Person for water management and appropriate systems, any agreed designated authorised person duties.
- To be trained to deliver Authorised Person responsibilities where required.
- Liaising with all levels of management and staff.
- Ensure liaison with enabling functions such as temporary works co-ordination and working at heights.
We're looking for:
- Training/qualification in the Management of Water Systems to enable them to undertake the role of responsible person (Water) for the three sites.
- Have a wide experience and knowledge of the estates functions within a hospital environment.
- An ability to communicate, co-operate and motive staff and colleagues at all levels and in all disciplines.
- Extensive knowledge and application in line with HTM04.01/L8, etc.
- A high standard of customer care skills, have a pleasant manner, good communication skills, numerate and have keyboard skills.
- HNC or equivalent, or relevant experience and knowledge.
- Good healthcare knowledge.
- Knowledge of Water Systems and relevant legislation and guidance.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use.
- Understanding of the Health and Safety of Work Act 1974.
