A large Healthcare organisation is looking for a Security Manager – LSMS on an interim basis for 3 months based in London.

Providing professional representation on behalf of the organisation within various Committees and working groups will be essential to ensure that security considerations are included during the organisations routine decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional security and car parking service, which is very customer focussed, whilst maximising the safety and security of the patients, staff, Trust assets and visitors to the premises.
  • The post holder will hold the ‘Local Security Management Specialist’ (LSMS) qualification and assist the LSMS lead in the provision of an LSMS service;
  • Receive and investigate all formal and informal complaints for the services;
  • Maintain an up to date workforce development programme to ensure all team members have a sufficient set of skills to fulfil all statutory and essential elements of their role;
  • Conduct risk assessments and satisfy the agreed actions, to ensure the provision of a safe workplace environment;
  • Identify the need for new and revised policies from time to time, for approval by the Lead LSMS and Head of Security and Support Services prior to implementation;
  • Collate and prepare various statutory and internal reporting systems, including physical assaults reporting;
  • Conduct all necessary and relevant responsibilities to support the activities of the Major Incident policy;
  • Identify trends in risk-based incidents and propose appropriate action plans to help reduce the risks associated with physical assaults, thefts and potential harm to patients and their visitors.

A successful candidate will have:

  • LSMS accredited;
  • Experience of management of violence issues within a mental health setting services and related training;
  • Good working knowledge of risk assessment and the national Violence and Aggression agenda;
  • Knowledge of national guidelines and governmental documentation such as Tackling Violence against Staff and Lone Working;
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data and resolve failures to meet project standards;
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal communication (written and oral);
  • Understanding of the national agenda relating to the NHS Protect agenda.
