An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for a large healthcare organisation who is looking to appoint an Estates Manager Electrical on an interim basis within the South West.

Responsible for the development and implementation of the engineering planned preventative maintenance system.

Accommodation will be available at a low cost for the successful candidate.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for provision of technical services, advice and guidance to maintenance teams, project teams, designers, consultants and contractors working on the Estate’s team;
  • Develop and monitor the annual life cycle maintenance programme;
  • Responsible for the appointment, management and monitoring of contractors undertaking planned preventative maintenance activities;
  • Critically evaluate design criteria, solutions and advise Senior Management on compliance issues;
  • High level briefing of technical requirements and assimilation of information into specifications, drawings and other tender documentation;
  • Responsible for the Management of Engineering Estates budgets and Contracts, requisition materials, equipment, and certify invoices and receipts in accordance with estates practice; including contracted maintenance and designated capital or revenue schemes from initial conception through to final account;
  • Support and deliver extensive backlog and minor works projects technical requirements, ensuring complex technical issues are resolved;
  • Ensure the implementation of appropriate Health and Safety training where necessary and the utilisation of necessary equipment to reduce/eliminate personal risks and ensure contractual compliance by all site agents, staff and contractors;
  • Evaluate corporate risks to ensure continuity of critical services; considering resilience planning issues and corporate strategy;
  • Work with and recommend Authorised Engineers to provide HTM compliance through consultation and guidance from authorising bodies;
  • Work with Energy Managers to support buildings and engineering services ensuring that they are being run in an energy efficient manner;
  • responsible for effective delivery of the estates and facilities services, whilst predicting engineering problems, based on sound engineering principles, to protect patient safety and corporate reputation.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Engineering Masters or bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline or equivalent;
  • HTM compliance Training;
  • Accomplished building and engineering professional with a high level of technical;
  • Risk management at corporate level exp;
  • Engineering within a Health care environment;
  • Technical report writing ability;
  • CAD Drawing reading;
  • Conversant with ISO9001:2008 Auditing.
