A large healthcare organisation requires an experienced Senior Capital Projects Manager  for an period of up to 12 months. Candidates must have NHS experience to be considered.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead on all engineering and building aspects, including infrastructure design for major and minor capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring that the needs and expectations of all stakeholders to the project are met and that the projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality;
  • Work closely with Estates colleagues and client teams across the Trust contributing to the overall management of Estates Projects, property and energy/ environmental initiatives;  Leading project teams of internal and external resource in the delivery of effective, efficient and value for money capital schemes;
  • Utilise their extensive technical knowledge and expertise to provide the full range of capital planning and project management services required by the Trust whilst assuring statutory/mandatory compliance as well as compliance with all available advisory guidance;
  • Support in the planning of the portfolios, programmes and projects;
  • Leading and supporting the definition of project briefs;
  • Developing and communicating project feasibility reports and ascertaining viability and deliverability of a programme of works;
  • Technical validation of proposed construction works;
  • Delivery of major and minor projects including engineering, building and Turn-key Projects;
  • Project administration and contract management including the execution of construction Contracts as Contract Administrator;
  • Financial management and responsibility.


A successful candidate will have:

  • Possession of a recognised professional qualification Degree/ Higher National Diploma in building, construction or engineering field (preferably construction);
  • Corporate membership of appropriate professional body, IHEEM IMECHE, IEE, IIE RICS, RIBA CIOB, CIBSE etc. or evidence of work towards obtaining membership.
  • Experience of managing large Capital budgets and delivering projects within budgetary limits;
  • NHS based experience within Capital Projects Major/Minor is an absolute must for this role.
