Faculty Office London Technical Safety Manager (Here East) Full Time
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £44,674 - £52,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
UCL at Here East is an exciting collaborative initiative led by five world leading departments within UCL’s Faculties of the Built Environment and Engineering Sciences. As a next generation manufacturing, design and research facility, UCL at Here East hosts multiple research and teaching activities.
This position is the focal point to realising collaboration in an environment where people are doing multiple new things never done before in a shared space. This post holder will be a risk enabler by coordinating the cross planning activity and mitigation and therefore enable exciting new things to happen.
The post holder will a positive enabler, who can take responsibility for the development and management of the Safety protocols for UCL at Here East. This involves using a proven technical abilities to monitor and adhere to UCL’s existing security and safety strategies, assessing their effectiveness and developing and implementing new systems where there is a need in collaboration with staff from multiple departments as well as UCL Safety Services.
The post holder will come with industry experience in an appropriate engineering subject or a relevant degree, NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent in Safety training, and a working knowledge of a technical safety sub discipline. With an ability to apply all this experience and training to an innovative, exciting environment with a positively, collaborative leadership style, the post holder will also be expected to hold the necessary Health and Safety Executive Management skills.
