Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Sector: Property 

Location: Nationwide

Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 DOE

My client is shortlisting for this role and we will be screening / briefing on position closer to the start date in June/July

As a Nationwide building contractor who wins business through their great reputation and ability to deliver on time, on budget projects across a variety of sectors, reputation and good people are everything. They are responsible for the development of retail units, homes, accommodation and mixed-use schemes.

Currently we are working together to find them strong, Quantity Surveyors to play a key part in driving projects and ensuring they are accurate, timely and safe.

Key Responsibilities



  • Prepare monthly cost reports and management reports through project cycle


  • Advise the Commercial Director of any potential disputes arising between company and the Sub-contractors. 


  • Issue withholding and payment notices within the correct time scales. 


  • Respond to all sub-contractor’s correspondence where required. 


  • Take ownership of your project with the relevant contract’s manager for both progress and commercial matters. 


  • Updating information on progress of projects and passing to Commercial Director as required.


  • Working to deadlines set by myself and others within the team. 


  • Delegate and monitor tasks to trainee Quantity Surveyor.


  • Ensure continuous communication with other team members to review contract progress and address immediately associated issues.


  • Attending site weekly (or as required) to review issues including providing solutions and advice to ensure successful project completion.


  • Ensuring the workforce employed on site are treated fairly and communication is filtered through to them. 


  • Identify and review key performance indicators with Commercial Director. 


 

Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience




    • NVQ Level 4, HND, Degree or equivalent experience


    • Excellent knowledge of Contract Law


    • Strong time management and assertiveness


    • Health & Safety awareness
