Deputy Head of Residences Vacancy Ref: 13375
Salary (Grade H3): £40,183 - £51,719 per annum (incl. of London Allowance)
The Directorate of Commercial Services are looking for a Deputy Head of Residences who will have accountability for operational service delivery and compliance, releasing the Head of Residences to focus on the strategic development of the department. This is a key role, which supports all operational functions at a high level, through a team of functional Service Delivery & Compliance Managers.
This new role offers scope to an innovative, highly organised and process-oriented individual to establish themselves as a strong service delivery leader and to work with the Customer Service Manager and the Operations Manager (Buildings & Facilities) to implement a one-team approach that will underpin and facilitate the success of the wider activities of all Residences teams. You will be expected to build a strong culture of professionalism, performance excellence and autonomy within the growing Service Delivery team, supporting direct reports to develop their skills and their profile across the University.
You will be responsible for ensuring that those functions engaged in student experience delivery are aligned, delivering efficiencies and streamlining processes wherever possible. Additionally, you will oversee the service delivery effectiveness of key projects, support proactive continuous improvement of our services to meet customer needs and financial targets and, in so doing, guarantee the delivery of excellent student experience to support Brunel University London’s strategic vision for student recruitment and retention. You will also ensure that systems and processes are fit for purpose and that Brunel University London, Commercial Directorate and Residences’ policies and strategies are fully implemented at all times.
You will be an experienced leader with substantial budgetary and management experience. You will use this experience to develop department-wide service delivery through the effective management of staff, finance, Health & Safety, IT, estate management and administration.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with emphasis on leadership and/or management. It is essential you have excellent leadership, personnel management and development skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and in a collegiate manner with stockholders and colleagues to formulate and realise common objectives. The ability to lead organisational and cultural change in response to changing needs is also required for this role. It is essential that the successful candidate meets the requirements of the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
The role will support the delivery of a high-quality service within a 24/7 customer focussed environment, and as such weekend working will be required.
