The role: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Manchester
Sector: Property / Accommodation
Salary: £45,000pa to £55,000pa DOE + Car Allowance
A great opportunity has arisen for a well experienced and qualified Health and Safety Manager to join a dynamic and growing business based in Manchester.
My client is a highly regarded property company. They have a global reach but keep their customers at the heart of everything they do. The Health and Safety Manager will play a key role across the estate and offer support and expertise to a number of business function.
All about you:
You will need to be comfortable in a stand-alone role at mid-senior level and capable of guiding and inspiring large teams to perform at best practice levels. Your influence over policy and implementation will have a significant effect on how the business is perceived and operated.
The role has a wide remit and no two days will be the same, so the successful incoming candidates must have bags of energy and enthusiasm as well as an excellent track record across large estates.
You must be passionate about the details and always be focused on solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that a single Health and Safety Management system is established and maintained that aligns to industry standards e.g. ISO 45001
- Provide strategic and operational direction to the business on all Health and Safety Legislative and Regulatory compliance matters
- Chair and manage regular H & S meetings with TR Heads and Operations ensuring compliance of our works on projects
- Create and maintain robust management systems and trackers to ensure compliance, and develop our internal policy
Highly desirable:
- A NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience of working within a large and complex organisation, ideally hotel or restaurants.
- Membership of a professional Health and Safety organisation, IOSH or BSC
- Extensive Health and Safety experience as a practitioner with work-based experience of HSE approved Health and Safety Management systems i.e. HSG65
- Experience of working with a geographically dispersed workforce, with a combination of fixed and mobile work locations
- Flexibility to travel regularly
