We are recruiting for an Electrical Testing and Remedial Engineer / Maintenance Electrician to provide electrical services to a commercial portfolio in Southampton and surrounding areas area. The role is a permanent position, mobile in nature (with set catchment area), and will involve PPM maintenance, remedial electrical tasks and fixed wire testing and inspection. 

 On Offer:
  • The role is a permanent position
  • The salary is made up of an initial base rate and fixed payments for each job completed. The range depending on tasks completed is 30-40k plus. The engineer also receives door to door payment.
  • Overtime available
  • The engineer works on fixed wire tests and be paid between £100-£150 per test
  • The catchment area will be local/semi regional
  • The engineer can ultimately set their own OTE depending on works completed.

 As the Electrical Testing and Remedial Engineer / Maintenance Electrician your duties are:
  • Customer focused with a strong sense of quality and experienced in delivering a high quality maintenance service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both office and technical colleagues as well as customers.
  • Commercially aware of cost and revenue, able to identify revenue opportunities for the company.
  • Well-organised and able to follow defined processes.
  • Carryout EICRs in commercial properties
  • PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Electrical checks
  • Electrical fault finding and remedial works
  • Fire Alarm Testing, Fault Finding and Remedial works
  • Emergency Lighting Testing, Fault Finding and Remedial Works
  • Fire Extinguisher Inspections
  • Follow daily plan set out by the scheduler to attend and complete maintenance calls, assisting the scheduler in optimising the plan where appropriate.
  • Effective and timely communication with the scheduler with regards to call progress and any issues encountered.
  • Use PDA accurately and in real-time, ensuring labour and travel time is accurate and all call paperwork and photographs (where required) is correct, complete and uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely and accurate quotes for work as required.
  • Achieve agreed KPIs such as effectiveness to drive productivity, visits per completion and SLA.
  • Follow operational processes and engineering best practice in line company policy.
  • Follow health and safety procedures in accordance with company and site requirements.
  • Operate according to QA procedures and maintain clear and legible records as required.

Qualifications and experience:
Full qualified electrician (Required)
18th Edition Certificate (Required)
ECS (CSCS) card current (Preferred – expired will be accepted)
City & Guilds 2391 & 2394 or equivalent (Preferred)
Full Clean Driving Licence (Required)
Previous experience in carryout EICRs in commercial properties (Required)
Previous experience in electrical fault finding and remedial works (Required)
