Space is the hot topic in FM at the moment. It is expensive and we need more efficient ways of using it. Inefficient use of space is often not picked up, and even when FMs recognise that space is being poorly used, evidence to support a change will only be anecdotal.
A number of data collection techniques are used to capture the data and provide information on occupancy to understand actual versus planned space utilisation .
The role
Mon 20 Jan for one week only. Briefing on site for 2 hours the week before (poss Thursday 16th or Friday 17th) – exact date to be confirmed closer to the time.
This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new developments in FM and you will carry out a survey on a client Estate.. You are assigned a circuit of rooms which you are responsible for observing and then data collection throughout the week. The type of rooms you visit may vary and you will be required to briefly enter the rooms on your circuit and record the number of people in each room. You will input the data into a spreadsheet and also make some notes.

- Experience of using Microsoft Excel/Office Systems
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Be punctual and reliable
- The ability to problem solve and be able to work quietly and discreetly.
- Experience of being responsible for the collection and collation of data is also desirable
