The Role: Electrical Supervisor/ Electrical tester

Sector: Construction / Modular Homes

Location: Hampshire

Salary: £50,000pa to £60,000pa DOE

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified and experienced Electrical Installations and Testing professional to join a young and growing company.

Driven by innovation and sustainability the role of Electrical Supervisor will carry responsibility for ensuring faultless, high end installation for a new generation of home builds.

All about you:

You will offer specialist, detailed support to the technical team on electrical integration throughout the project phase. You will take pride in what you do and have a strong desire to be at the forefront of technical developments that make building and designing homes more efficient and sustainable.

You will be capable of ensuring that electrical schematics are suitable for installation and take responsibility for testing and the final sign off.

This is a very hands on role that requires a high degree of technical ability along with leadership qualities and confidence as you will also guide junior team members through the process.

Key Responsibilities


  • Engage with electrical engineers and consultants on early designs, concepts & prototypes. Supporting team on ease of installation and provide ideas to simplify/improve.
  • Read and assess detailed technical drawings/ electrical diagrams.
  • Install and maintain product electrical assemblies, wiring and lighting systems in the housing modules.
  • Inspection, testing and certification sign off housing modules in compliance with BS7671 17th edition wiring regulations
  • Act as a mentor for apprentices and trainee electrical installers. Ensuring a standardized methodology for electrical installations.
  • Accurately complete all relevant internal and external documentation for quality assurance and compliance.
  • Identify electrical problems using problem solving and varied device testing methodology.
  • Support the electrical maintenance of the production facility. For example, inspecting electrical components, transformers and circuit breakers to schedule and preforming replacements as required.
  • Follow building regulations during electrical installations
  • Working effectively in conjunction with other trades
  • Adhere to current Health & Safety legislation and company policy

Essential Competencies


  • Ability to sign off own work and that of other electrical installers to a NICEIC or equivalent certification.
  • 5+ years fully qualified electrician competent in first and second fix
  • Have a least two consecutive years supervisory or managerial responsibility for the standard of electrical installation work
  • Ability to read and feedback on electrical schematics
  • Excellent knowledge of the best building and Health & Safety regulations standards
  • Demonstrable experience within a supervisory/management/leadership role
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload, and work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent people and communication skills

 


Essential Qualifications


  • NVQ3 Electrotechnical Services (installation, buildings and structure), plus L3 award in initial Verification and Certification of Electrical installations, L3 award in Periodic inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical installations, and current L3 award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.

  • Level 3 Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installation Work in Dwellings, plus the additional knowledge of the requirements of the L3 Diploma in installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (building structures and the Environment) and L3 award in Periodic inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical installations.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of the latest edition of BS 7671
  • CSCS Card
  • City & Guilds 2330 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391-10 or 2394/5/6 in inspection and testing qualification or equivalent
