Applications are invited for the role of Deputy Head of Support Services at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Support Services, part of Capital, Estates & Facilities Management  is excited to be able to advertise a new role of Deputy Head of Service.  This new position will be to support the Head of Services with your main focus being on providing senior management support on the day to day operational delivery of a wide and diverse portfolio.

Support Services is a combination of in-house and contracted services and our goal is to provide and deliver the best patient experience for our patient and visitors.  You will be supporting the Head of Service offering additional senior operational management oversight and governance to the following areas: Hotel Service (Catering, Cleaning, Laundry & Linen), Security and Access Office, Car parking, Wayfinding, Porter Services, Environmental Waste Porters and our in house Postal Services.

To succeed in the new and exciting role you will hold a Master degree in management and a professional qualification in project management, (or equivalent), have substantial experience of managing large scale soft services and managing complex contracts.  You will excel in working collaboratively across professions and services and have demonstrable success in planning and managing change.  As an experienced senior manager you will understand the complexities of managing a large workforce, both directly and indirectly and offer insight and understanding on how to get the best results from the workforce.

This role will require you to draw on your existing knowledge of NHS guidelines and Corporate Governance. You will be comfortable analysing and then appropriate utilisation of complex information to secure service change. You will know what good stakeholder management looks like and have demonstrable understanding of budgets and financial management within the public sector as well as public contract procurement experience.

Above all you will offer an open and supportive leadership approach to your team and help the service and its people excel.
