Our client who are a large Scottish based Facilities Maintenance and Construction service provider who operate across the UK and Europe.
An excellent opportunity has arisen in Forfar and Carnoustie for a Facilities Manager with emphasis on Soft Services.
Responsibilities:
- Control and manage the caretakers/janitors within schools including the following;
- Co-ordinate holidays
- Manage the call-out and rotas
- Ensure all schools have Janitorial/Caretaker cover at all times
- Act as Relief Janitor if/where required to facilitate holiday/sickness cover
- Working with the Contract Manager develop site-specific policies and operational procedures, which fit with the company's value framework and match the requirements of the client.
- Provide technical assistance to the Contract Manager in relation to Changes in Legislation and/or Standards and help to manage/roll out the implications at Site Level. Carry out Audits to ensure Statutory Compliance is being achieved.
- Manage the Helpdesk pro actively and efficiently to minimise Penalty Deductions as far as practicable.
- Review Energy Performance across all Sites with a view to identifying consumption improvements, and where relevant link this to M&E Lifecycle projects.
- Complete Workplace Inspections alongside the Janitorial Teams, ensuring Health and Safety Compliance.
- Produce accurate Performance Reports on a Monthly basis for issue to various parties.
- Compile Team Briefs on a Monthly basis and deliver to Janitorial Staff.
- Attend Meetings with the Client, Head Teachers and Subcontractors, as required.
- Provide Out of Hours support to the Janitorial Staff, where necessary, and be next in line on the Escalation Procedure for On Call purposes.
- Practice effective risk management, establishing controls, procedures, health and safety systems, and audits etc, which to operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health & Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection and Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures.
- Maintain an awareness of company Policies, Procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
- Work flexibly within the wider team undertaking any other duties assigned by the Contract Manager in connection with operational requirements which contribute to growth.
Requirements:
- Trade qualified within (Plumbing/Carpentry etc) Desired
- Previous experience within a building fabrics management role
- Current full driving licence
- IT competent
