Role: SHEQ Manager

Location: Broxbourne, Hertfordshire

Salary £35,000 - £40,000 + industry leading benefits package

I have an excellent opportunity to join a leading transport and logistics organisation who are based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. My client are responsible for the supply chain for a number of restaurant chains in the UK, due to significant growth in the last year the business are currently recruiting for a H&S professional to join their established team and assist in the management of their quality, health, safety and environment division for their new business unit in Broxbourne reporting into the Head of QHSE. The ideal candidate would come from a H&S background in the construction, logistics or food sector and have experience of managing a busy site with multiple operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that all requirements of the Health, Safety & Environment and Food Standards policies and standards are met throughout the business
  • Briefing teams on updated or new ways of working, standards, how to guides, risk assessments, safe systems of work and SHEQ alerts
  • Ensure fire safety standards, tests, drills are adhered to, including equipment and emergency lighting and Fire Risk Assessment Report actions are completed
  • Monitor standards & audit requirements to ensure compliance, as well as highlight areas of non-compliance to senior depot management and demonstrate a proactive problem solving approach to resolve any areas of non-compliance (BS 18001, ISO 14001, BRC)
  • Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Standards training is completed on time and in full and reports gaps and non-compliance to the General Manager and Head of SHEQ. Administer the elearning system, ensuring all employees are set up on the system

Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge in Health & Safety, Environmental management, Food Standards and internal and external auditing
  • Effective communicator with the ability to persuade and influence senior management
  • IT literate – Microsoft Office applications
  • Customer driven, collaborative and hands-on approach able to identify pragmatic, business-focused solutions to areas of non-compliance
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Food Safety Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • QHSE experience in the construction, logistics or food sector
  • Full UK driving license
