The Company

I am currently recruiting for one of our biggest construction and facilities management clients, they work across multiple commercial sectors inclusive of Schools, airports, offices, railways, shopping centres, homes, research and laboratories.

They are currently looking after various healthcare estates across the UK, and they have a vacancy for a Senior Technical Manager to join their facilities management team on their healthcare sector contract in Nottinghamshire.

The Role

Working as a Senior Technical Manager you'll be responsible for all engineering matters applicable to the Healthcare sector project. The role covers three sites in the East Midlands, but may at times require supporting the wider business.

Senior Technical Manager Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage a team of Estates Officers to maintain high standards of performance at all times, in line with contractual requirements
  • Manage client and building users expectations and to aim for consistently high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all statutory and mandatory compliance maintenance and records/certificates are kept up to date at all times in line with the contractual requirements and filed as per the company management system
  • Maintain and develop statutory/mandatory compliant systems to support the delivery of a professional hard facilities management function at healthcare sites, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Be responsible for ensuring full contractual compliance for availability of assets which will include the development of appropriate maintenance strategies and the undertaking of all planned work
  • Lead in energy, management and reporting on behalf of the healthcare contract as well as in business continuity planning and risk management
  • Support the management team in the provision of maintenance services within the PFI contract
  • Undertake Authorised Person duties on systems as agreed with the Senior General Manager
  • Be responsible for the delivery of statutory, mandatory and contractually compliant systems, ensuring adherence with legislation and contractual obligations at all times
  • Support the Estates Officers/Package Managers in effective management of subcontractors to ensure timely completion of PPM's. Ensure regular feedback sessions are planned with key subcontractors
  • Lead completion of PDRs for respective reporting engineering supervisors including agreeing development plans and setting goal and objectives plans

We're looking for:


  • HND qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of estates functions within a hospital environment.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of HTMs & HBNs etc.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use
  • Understanding of the Health and Safety of Work Act 1974
