The Role:

We are looking for a reliable, flexible and innovative Electrical Engineer to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies based on a static site. The main site is in Leeds you will be based there 3-4 days a week with the other days visiting sites in Newcastle or Sunderland completing monthly ppm's. There are around 6 sites in total you could be working, 4 in the North East and 2 based in Leeds - The North East sites have their own engineers so you will largely be based on the Leeds site which is near the White Rose Centre in South Leeds.

The client you will be working with is in the banking sector so the sites are professional and well maintained.

This role is ideal for anyone who is interested in progression as they will be looking to put the successful engineer through training courses to become a Mechanical AP and also an Electrical AP which are sought after accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules across all Electrical assets and Mechanical where possible. All general ppm's are to also be completed on site so this is not a pure mechanical role.
  • Electrically related reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.
  • Carry out technical surveys of the above services and systems, reporting findings to the Building Services Supervisor. Producing list costs of material required for any minor works required.
  • Carry out minor installation work to the above services and systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of wiring, lighting, alarms, BMS, UPS, HV and LV and Electrical systems and equipment as per the specification.
  • To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with M&E aspects of the PPM schedules. Surveying and accepting of new works and reactive repairs carried out by specialist sub-contractors.
  • To join the out of hours, call out team reacting to help desk requests within the local area. Call out is 1 in 2 although you are very rarely called our due to the nature of the site. There is £100 standby for being on call so this is another £2,600 per year for being onstandby on top of your salary.
  • There is overtime available on this and the other sites as well for planned ppm work which needs to be done out of operating hours.

 

The Ideal Candidate:


  • Qualified Electrical Engineer - City and Guilds or NVQ
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • HV and LV Experience
  • Experience within a commercial environment - ideally critical such as hospitals or data centres
  • UPS experience desirable
  • Basic DBS required for this role
