Contract Manager (Gas Biased)
Birmingham
The Company
We are working with a successful Birmingham based heating and mechanical services company. They provide heating and mechanical installation, service and maintenance to commercial and domestic sector clients across the Midlands.
They are currently looking to hire a contracts manager to cover their Midlands based contracts.
The Role
The role of contracts manager will involve the management of programmed maintenance, minor project, reactive and installation works. Ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standards in cooperation with the client while providing a first point of contact to the customer to ensure the service level agreement is met
Tasks undertaken by myself include the following:
- Manage a team of service and reactive engineers
- Carry out regular toolbox talks with supervisors and operatives
- Negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best value at all times
- Hold "one to one" meetings, monthly with each direct report to ensure efficient delivery of resources and to discuss innovative ideas, promoting personal development
- Ensure all works undertaken comply with the relevant regulatory body
- Provide a first fix attendance attitude for all unplanned reactive breakdowns and review equipment, age and condition and suggest improvements to enhance performance and quote improvements when necessary
- Actively involved and responsible for investigating any reported accidents, ensuring we capture any "lessons learnt" for the future and feeding this info back to the health and safety team to capture and share these lessons in future updates
- Ensuring engineers training was fully up to date, booking personnel onto training courses and recording training records on matrix training spreadsheets
- Regularly carry out energy efficiency reviews to ensure optimal energy efficiency for our clients that in turn generate extra contractual works for the company
Requirements
To be considered for this Contracts manager role you will need:
- ACS Gas Safe Tickets: Commercial Gas & Domestic Gas
- Previous experience running jobs, winning contracts and managing labour and procurement in the commercial sector
- Previous management experience in a similar role is beneficial
