Our Client who one of Europe's largest Facilities Management service providers are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Manager at their West Midlands head office location

The Role

The Accounts Payable department is responsible for the correct and timely processing of supplier invoices through to payment. Using ARP (Account Reconciliation Packages)

Day to Day


  • Management of complex UK and overseas suppliers queries and key supplier accounts. This will include;

    • Building relationships with key contacts at the supplier and becoming the contact for business escalations
    • Reconciliation of account to supplier statement and resolving differences in a timely manner
    • Establishing processes/owners to ensure PO compliance is achieved
    • Provides guidance and support to key stakeholders working within the business (logistics, supply chain, buying and procurement)
    • Timely escalation of any supplier account issues (i.e. delayed payment) as required so that these can be appropriately resolved
    • Root cause issue analysis and resolution

  • Managing a team of up to 15 staff members
  • Review and document business processes, to drive business change, enhance controls and manage risk
  • Support on the finance transformation, by testing the new system, providing expertise and other requests
  • Assist with internal audit, external audit, queries as needed
  • Produce month-end and ad-hoc reporting to senior management
  • Ensures all VAT and customs compliance standards are complied with

Must Haves


  • Strong relevant experience in AP specifically in dealing with supplier account management
  • Good knowledge of procurement & buying activities and processes
  • Good IT skills and with a strong grasp of Excel. Good knowledge of MS Office and ability to pick up new systems easily
  • Knowledge of ARP Systems would be beneficial
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads taking into account business needs
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills and ability to present information at a senior level
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to investigate queries thoroughly and accurately
  • Willingness and desire to initiate and drive change
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and driven to succeed, with a flexible outlook and 'can do' attitude
