The role: Sales Manager, North

Salary - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum

Based at home or local depot with travel across the North region

Glendale’s Strategic Board Plan sets out an ambition to grow its business activities into new customer sectors alongside its core operations. Specifically the SBP targets growth in the commercial market, defined broadly as not Local Authority linked sales. The role holder will work with the Sales and Development Director, regional managers and senior leaders to implement the regional and local strategic sales plans and meet/exceed the targets set.

The post holder would target work across all North regional operations covering a territory focused on the major cities of Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and many others, covering an area spanning Lincoln to North Wales, up to Preston and over into the North East.  We would expect the postholder to further develop our current client base and create new opportunities by using their current network or developing a new network and work to a predefined, annual sales target.

The role requires a strict regime of sales development and management of the Customer Relationship Management software, reporting Sales Qualified Leads (SQL) and a fully planned annual marketing strategy.

The successful candidate will be articulate, an entrepreneurial and logical  thinker and a proven leader. They will thrive on a dynamic fast moving and challenging operational environment but be equally comfortable developing rapport with the esteemed client base.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (desirable) or an equivalent level 6 qualification, ideally in a land-based study (e.g. Horticulture, Arboriculture or Construction Plant operations) or a similar industry.

The successful person will have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with high energy levels and enthusiasm.  They will have excellent financial and planning skills as well as a high degree of quality, health, safety and environmental competence.
