Customer service and great delivery is essential, and we now seek to build a new team within the Estates Directorate to bring our services in-house and take them to the next level.

As the Estates Manager, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across both our Kew sites. This includes the care of our collections and ensuring our buildings are fit for purpose.

This is a key post and you will develop and manage the estates operation team and implement a positive image and reputation for the delivery of services we provide. You will oversee operational estates and take responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others. You will also be responsible for overseeing the departmental Facilities Management budget of £2.8m, approving orders, reporting and forecasting on the operational budget and managing the operational capital finance.

A confident and effective communicator, you will liaise with key stakeholders, resolve conflicting objectives where they exist, and prioritise workloads for the Engineering Manager, Energy Manager and Asset Manager, in order to meet deadlines.

You will be Educated to degree level in Building or Facility Management, or with demonstrable equivalent experience and you will have significant knowledge of managing the delivery of a medium to large maintenance operation and with buildings of historic, heritage importance.

This post will be based at Kew Gardens, Richmond with 1 day per week spent at Wakehurst, West Sussex.
